012 wont start?

I've been working on this sthil 012 for a few weeks.

Replaced the spark plug, carb kit, fuel filter, air filter, piston rings.

Tried to replace with cylinder head gasket with a DIY kit.The kind you can buy in a roll at the auto store and cut into shape.

The dang thing runs sometimes, and runs well, but then it floods and quits on me entirely. Been trying to adjust the carb screws with mix results.

Anyone have any ideas?

Seems to be. I don't have one of those fancy walbro meters checkers and I'm just using the original metering lever.

I always check it,,, different levers,, and gasket/diaphragm thickness will change the setting...

Okay. I'll give it a shot. I was told last time I had an issue similar to this to use the original needle.

So, I've been fiddling around with the chainsaw more. It's not the carb. I think it might be the a leak. I bought a leakdown tester, plugged up all the holes, pressurized it, and sprayed the flywheel and the drive side with soapy water. I got lots of bubbles. Does this mean my oil seals are bad? How do I replace them? Do I need to split the case?

Where the crankshaft meets the body on both sides.

Yep pull the flywheel and the clutch and remove the seals. Carefully insert new ones.

Is there a guide on how to do this anywhere? I hanv't been able to find a good one.
