HaHa, yeah I know. Another oxymoron!!

At any rate, I have an 021 that I bought for trail maintenance where I ride ATVs'.
I modded it right away and installed an aftermarket jug and piston from an 025.

Was thinking about modding it.............
Port job, muff mod, timing advance.

I don't have much money in to it, so if I "f" it up there is very little loss.

Is it capable of much gains?

I hear what you're saying, but I was thinking that I really can't screw much up with this saw and maybe learn a little porting at the same time.

Well, it’s certainly a decent model to cut your teeth on because you can get another P+C for very little if something goes wrong.

Being a clam shell I don't think you can get that much out of an 021 but I do know it has a chinzy crank in it that won't hold up to any major mods . All the other saws in that series like 025 the crank is built much heavier than an 021

Sorry about that. I was directing my post to the OP. I was using your post as an example of what could go wrong . I did change it

So the 021 hotsaw project is done!!
Put it on the dyno this morning (I work at a Technical School) and we got 11.7 H.P. out of it @ 16,550 rpms!!
