aquired a 028 eq wood boss that was straight gassed. I put a 028 super top on that I had. Not sure what brand it is. Anyways it passed vac and pressure test but I’ll set the carb so it 4 strokes out of the cut but after a couple minutes of cutting it acts like it’s running lean. I also changed fuel lines and filter when I rebuilt it. Is it possible that the adjustment screws are vibrating in? Seems like if they did anything they would go out. I also left out the base gasket because squish was a little thick.
What’s your guys thoughts

The fuel tank vent is probably clogged.
That style vent has burned up more of those saw than I can remember. Old hose and gummed fuel stop them up.

I changed it to the new style instead of the grub screw

As far as I know there isn't any "new style', and tubing and grub screws have worked fine for me. 35 years worth of 028 and 038. I had tubing rot on one that was 30 years old but never had one clog.

Tell me what is this "new style"?
