Does anyone have a vid of a modded 036 vs. stock 460?
We did some Dyno testing a few years back. A stock 460 made 6 hp on the dyno which IIRC was the quoted spec from Stihl.

We dyno’d a ported 036 and found out that the air filter really held them back. Here are a few of the curves.

The bottom line is that bigger displacement makes more torque, and power is torque over time. Bigger CC saws will pull ahead with longer bars because smaller saws can’t keep the chain speed up with the great load of more cutters. So while a ported 036 will crush an 046 through a 20” log, a stock 460 will pull ahead if you bury a 28” bar in hard oak.
