As we all know, this is a "pre-chainbrake chainsaw". I was just wondering, How hard is it to convert it to a work saw. Does this engine fit on a chassis with a chainbrake? I bought the mini Mac and the Homelite xl for $60. The Homelite made the money. Mini Mac's are mega work until you get it down pat. I test this saw with only two bolts holding the engine to the housing, and two on the starter. The last thing I want is to install all of the parts for no reason. It's got another servicing coming. This little saw only runs good for a sacrifice. As for the Homelite, I have never seen a little old saw start on the very first pull in years! How amazing! This little saw takes reliable to different level! I'm going to keep it and use it! With a brake I hope.

Tear it down, and put it back together 50 times without doing damage to it, and it will become a short painless repair. I converted to Stihl bolts. All t27 instead of several different things. That makes repairs less hectic. Be careful matching engine bolts. I have a ton of random 2stroke engine bolts I always pick through and I always find the right one. It's the red bowl on the bottom left.

I love the little saws. They can make life easier on the ground if you have experience. Not everyone likes a top handle saw to be used on the ground. If It's within reach and I need to cut something I don't hesitate to. I build them.
