I stuck my 28" bar on the 460 yesterday, and it looks real good!
I like my chains with a even compliment I made it 90 DL, instead of the 91 it called for. I test fit it first with a junk link to make sure it would work.

Then the measurement.... effective cutting, dogs to tip.... 26 inches.
Measured my 440 with 24" bar, and it will cut to 24"

Maybe I shoulda gone for a 30" bar anyway....:dizzy:

Now I am itching to go cut a load of wood! Need a big tree to see how it works.

My 460 dosen't feel "right" with a 28". I have one, and use it as needed but I make most of my chips with a 20 inch and a very aggressive filed down RS chain.

If I had the setup that you do... I would put the 24" bar on the 460, a 20" on the 440 and have the 28" on standby. That is what would work for me.
If I could seek a 660 under the radar I'd put my 28" on it and quit changing bars as often.
