Hey, let's face it.

There really isn't such a thing as a 2 saw plan.

A man with 2 saws is just getting started. He just hasn't formulated his plan.

Everyone knows it takes at least 4 saws.

1) 660
2) 460
3) 260
4) 200t

And maybe a 361 also.

But what would I know. I'm just a:newbie:

The 361. It is a great not too heavy saw for cutting firewood.

This whole 2 saws, 3 saws, 4 saws thing is a waste of time and money. IMO.

Unless you have money to burn. In which case, buy a 460 and use the 361 as a limbing saw.

Couldn't have said it better!

Your right I have a different saw plan. Mine is almost complete. I'm trying to build an arsenal of saws from 12" bars through 36" for now. Here is mine

020T 12"
200T 14"
346xp 16"
350 16"
254 18"
359 18"
CS520 18"
036Pro 20"
046 Magnum 20"
Shindawa 757 24"
288xp 28"
MS880 36"

I'm wanting to ad a 066 to the mix. I'm going to thin the heard a bit. Get rid of the Echo and the 036.

My two saw plan: a Stihl 722. That is one 361 plus another 361.

I have a new two saw falling method. I take my twin 361s into the woods with me, see? Then I can just run one in each hand, and attack a tree from both sides at once. I can cut trees down twice as fast that way. Its a bit trickey, but once you get the hang of it, it saves a lot of time. The hard part is gauging the hinge right, and not letting the saws run into each other.

Of course, my 3 saw plan is to upgrade my Stihl 972 with a Stihl 982. That is to keep the pair of 361s and to add a 260 and dump the 250 class saws that I have (the 250 and the 025, and all the 250, 230 and 210 parts and saw carcasses that I have on Ebay).

Y'all are just makin' my head hurt.

Why not buy one of ever Stihl and Husky out there and be done with it. :biggrinbounce2:

Would love to do that. The pocket book wouldn't like it though. I haven;t bought a new saw in 3 years. I try and pick up every good deal on a used saw that I find. Then I have a friend fix them. In these saws I have $640 total and they all run great. Makes doing tree work a lot cheaper.

Husky 350
Husky 254
Husky 288xp
Shin 757

amateur, obviously.
except for the 460 suggestion, good advice there. go as big as you can. or wife will allow.

how do you get the first saw unstuck cutting pressurized wood without a second one nearby?
happens to most people. The more you cut, the more you will attempt to cut.

besides, who wouldn't want more saws???

I once had to use an axe to cut though a shattered dry tree that grabbed my saw sooner then I expected. A second saw would have been nice; I about stroked in the heat.

A MS-361 and a Echo CS-360T would be a real nice firewood combo for a average Joe like me. Yes, I used the "E" word. I love that little saw.
