Just burned the last chunk of "uglies" for this year.

Oh man, I'll have uglies all season. That's 90% of what I burn. I sell the "pretty wood" and burn the bi-product.

Ooops. I cruised my wood piles witht he dogs today. Saw a one big and several small chunks of spruce. Need to run them through the splitter. that will finish the uglies.

Already have a good start on next year's collection.

I have so darn much wood I leave the uglies in the woods unless it's a quality hardwood. then I noodle it square and burn the scraps in the fire pit.

My ugly pile grows as I split the rounds, there are always a few with knots, lousy shape splits, etc.

Finished my morning hour of split/stack and decided to process those overlooked chunks of spruce.

Good for quick warmups and to get the stove woke up in the mornings.
