Let me look tommorrow when I get home...

I bought a 268xp on FB from one of my he better known chainsaw members of a specific group.The saw turned out to be a regular 268, with a 266 top end. I then swapped a 272 top end on with a decomp valve and the brake band is too far forward on the cover. It has a metal flag. Not the best condition, but it works. I’ll take pics tomorrow.

interesting because I figured out that the clutch cover I have is actually from a 181 and 288. slightly too long for my 266.

And I’m looking for a 272 cover that would clear the decomp valve.

The one I have the break works fine. There is a slight notch at the bottom rear portion,not sure if intentional to help aide in wood chip discharge? Hard to describe without seeing pics.

I just plugged the decompression valve on my 266/268/272 frankensaw. Problem solved!
