It’s little over 6’ with the help of the 1 of the arborist and the house builder we managed to get it in the truck with out much effort. Got it high enough rolling it back and forth on to bigger and bigger rounds then backed right under it. Going to try and gets started on it today see what I can get off. Looks like the 32” bar will do hopefully . I need to build my mill for my 43” and 49” bar and I could get it the wider way 7FA3EA67-5BA0-4C9D-B836-ADD278E37B84.jpeg01B3D403-5A10-4A1D-8B4B-F9F7AFAF10C2.jpeg 707B53FF-A08C-4FCD-AE94-1525AE7CA48D.jpeg0CE2193C-494C-4C59-BC4F-3935E4A62713.jpeg

Well seems like my chain is getting dull fast. Forgot to check with metal detector. Started raining so had to stop 3/4 way through the 3rd cut that has color in this cut but can’t see it yet. I’m not using milling chain yet maybe that would help? I got it covered with the plywood right now DA779DA8-E3BA-415F-B769-33DAE7603854.jpegD2E41D66-2DA3-4A3E-A7A0-A12481C1EA39.jpeg not much to see yet. Will see tomorrow! Hopefully lol

Hopefully it dries ok. If that grew here I would just firewood it as the lumber would turn into hockey stick material.

Birch in the NW, a new one for me, never knew!

But I did not think we had Ash either, until the son in law brought up a slab of Ash from the Salem area for me to use to make 42 inch long axe handles. The standard 36 inchers are too short for me.

I am amazed at the big logs you manage to get into your pickup bed!

Were getting somewhere now. To bad there’s metal in it. That’s why’s its black at the base. Getting a hit with the metal detector. I’m thinking about taking the chance but probably not worth it and I should cut off 1.5’6AF3FBDC-812B-4720-A467-5178B2EE381E.jpegF8F845F4-3E3F-47C1-BC75-B0829B9F8B76.jpeg 7CD62CD5-77FE-4ACC-89FD-68B7BC84235E.jpeg
