Hi all: New to forum, and wondering about bar/chain combos. I'm running a HU 350 now, but want to move up a little to a Dolmar 5100 S or HU 346xp. What are the pros and cons of the different pitch sizes on saws in this range? And what about the thin-kerf combos?

I am cutting mostly Emory Oak, Alligator Juniper, and Pinyon Pine, pretty clean, nothing over 18" or so. Planning on using an 18" bar. Any thoughts? TIA

A 5100 and a 346 will both pull 3/8 BUT.................you will not bog either saw with .325 and you WILL with 3/8. I run .325 on my 5100, if it were ported and had more snot I might run 3/8.
