346xp muffler mod

i tried to search for it, i think i have a non cat muffler on mine, bout 5y/o saw with a black gas cap. does it really add power and acceleration or just sound like it does?

when i get a chance to rebuild it im gonna put the ne top end in it

When I punched a hole in the muffler on my 346, it seemed like it revved up a little quicker. It's definitely louder as well. The one major positive I noticed was that the saw seemed to run much cooler. I put about a half inch hole through the muffler backet and muffler, and put a screen between the two. When you do this, just don't forget to adjust your carb.
