That wind kicks your ass doesnt it? I spent all day in the truck to bucking the wind. The worst was heading back North empty with a west wind. That sucked.

I was listening to the radio and I am hearing about tornado warnings and bad storms and I was going right into them. Then they talk about tornado's that you cant see comming because they can hide in the heavy rain, and this is right when I am running in some of the worst rain I ever ran in.

I am just imagining getting blown over and hearing 185 pigs that are really really pissed at me for turning their world upside down (literly)

Call me hillbilly but I had my .223 with me in the truck with me just in case the worst happened and I had to take care of pigs running down the highway.

I have soar arms, but managed to keep all 18 wheels on the ground.

Pigs, heavy rains, sounds like hogwash to me.

"Hogwash"!!! LOL!!!

Glad ya made it OK BG!!!

All in all, after the clouds broke, things aren't anywhere near what they were hyped to be.

Still getting the 50-60mph gusts and about a 30mph constant wind, but the talking heads were flocking like vultures in these parts looking to get the scoop on the next Disaster dejour.

Maybe next time they will call it right. LOL!!

Stay safe!

Well its about time you guys get some wind instead of us lol. Stay safe everyone hope yall don't have it too bad. I heard the rear of the storm is frigid and blowing snow that could be terrible working conditions.

Whatchu talkin' bout "For a change". 8 Months out of the year 20-30MPH outta the west and off the lake is NORMAL LOL!!

The snow thing would be a bad thing. Yep. Got a total of 6.5" of rain in the last 4 days to pump down outta the field before a Hard freeze hits, or I'll be lookin for work at the drive through somewhere.
Folks in Minn. will be getting that sorta thing by Fri.

Snowing here right now, wind still blowing 35+.

Wood fresh off the pile hissing like green wood, despite being 2 1/2 year seasoned and popcorn fart dry the other day, but it seems like rain moisture goes away as fast as it comes. I'm not sure I'm disappointed that my wood wasn't under cover yet, my new $100 10x20 canopy mighta disappeared in this stuff if it had been up.

Back to bed for a bit, no sense trying to do anything useful outside right now.

Wind seems to be a bit less than what it was last night, but not by much. Mix of light rain and snow. The two weater reports I have read are totally different. One calling for three inches, the other for light rain and wind. Guess we'll see when it happens.

I also determined that my cheap tarps are just that. Went to grab a couple sticks from under the cheap tarp last night and the top row was as wet as if it had never been covered....:censored:

I thought we may have missed out on the fun up here but that isnt the case I had the gain access to my driveway by chainsaw yesterday and this morning I cut my way out. I woke up and couldnt get to sleep so I walked around at 1130 last night I thought there was a tornado the wind was really howling I went out to the dock just to make sure that my boat was still there and surveyed the carnage you could here trees crashing all over the place. so much for being done with firewood :greenchainsaw:

I'm glad to hear everybody made it thru safe and sound (so far). I had to drive to Chicago yesterday and found out last night that I barely missed driving thru a rain wrapped F1 yesterday morning. There were a few semi's that were using the whole road to keep on the pavement. I didn't envy them yesterday.

Other than a few things blown around, no significant damage here. (still have to take a look in the woods tho).

The people on the East Coast are next in line. Stay safe everyone!

Sun is out here, but still blowing pretty good. I think last night was the worst of it. I had to LMAO yesterday, Mike Sidel from the weather channel was on the beach in Frankfort, Mi and just about got blown over while reporting the "sand blizzard" on the beach. The coast guard asked for all boats to come off the water due to the wind and the 20' waves on Lake Michigan.

I'm sure I'll be getting a call when my Dad gets to his house to find trees scattered on the ground. He lives in a perpetual wind tunnel. Good wood, but I'm sure there is going to be a lot of branches to clean-up.

I am really impressed with our electric company...it only took about 4 hours to restore our power last night. I assumed after talking to them that it might take a few days.

I got by with only one tree casualty, a nice tall spruce, wind ripped it right out by the roots last night-wind was so noisy I never heard it hit the ground. Luckily it dropped away from the house and power-line.

Woodstove was little crazy finding the best air control setting with the super draft all the wind gusts created.

Well, I completely jinxed myself, thinking the worst was over. We lost power for the four hours, it came back on for the night, went to work the next day and came home to a huge mess. As soon as I turned onto our road I saw a line of 5 cars blocked by several 12-18 inch pine trees. Luckily I had my saw in the truck from the previous day and was able to cut them up while my neighbors pitched them to the side of the road.

I continued down the road a little further to find the power poles on our road in this condition.

I could only get this one pic to upload, but they were snapped off at 15-20 feet off the ground.

This was followed by 3 days of no power and screwing around with a little generator and extension cords. I decided to install a transfer switch and Nema 14-30 amp outlet to power the house with a large generator. Of course midnight roles around on the 3rd day , I'm ready to fire up the new generator and the power company finally shows up. Well, at least if we lose power again I'll be ready.
