.404” .050” chisel chain?

I think I have some laying around, but not great stuff. I did ream out a bar a little to run 063 and it cuts really straight. Why? 050 chain does not do as well as the wider. Thanks

It’s easier to change over the 3/8” 050” bar with replaceable sprocket noses to 404” 050”. I guess I’ll see about going to 404” 063” ga. This is for my 2100(100cc) huskys.i just purchased a 42” bar with 404” 063” ga chain. Old habits are hard to break. The larger longer tooth on the 404” chain lasts longer over the 3/8” chain. I never considered the extra weight being a factor I just keep the saw in the wood as much as possible.
