Now that you are done with the boys send them to my house!!!

I dont think their gonna be to thrilled if I mention your suggestion, besides we will soon start picking stones for spring planting its kinda like stacking wood only you walk up and down 1/2 mile long fields picking up rocks instead of wood....:hmm3grin2orange:

A face cord is not an official unit of measure.

A cord is 128 cubic feet of split wood tightly stacked.

Many people equate that to a pile 8' long, 4' high, and 4' deep, a 'face cord' is what you would see looking at the pile from in front of it, or its 'face'.

Problem with that is, the pile is only that measure on the 'face'. So if the wood pieces are 6 inches long, the 'face cord' is the same as if the wood pieces are 2 feet long.

If the wood pieces are 6 inches, the face cord is 16 cubic feet or 1/8 cord (4x8x.5=16 cubic feet). If the wood pieces are 2 feet, the face cord is really 1/2 cord (4x8x2=64 cubic feet).

Clear as mud?

Man poor kids!!! I picked rocks in a field in the UP that I thought we would never see dirt. 7 straight days I would rather do fire wood

Me to but I bucked it with a Sirro slasher, loaded with a 200 Serco on a 5 axel pulp trailer and unloaded it at home with a Barko 40.
Now I just need a OWB that takes 8' sticks 1/4 cord at a time so I can feed it with the log loader.:greenchainsaw:

Actually that a load of pulp going to the OSB mill, but we did do my firewood the same way. Now I just need to get busy and convert that slasher into a processor.
I'm not nearly as ambitious-as you are. :)
