Ok guys, need some advice, opinions, or input. I've got a 440 magnum that I picked up cheap a while back. The saw is complete but the piston and cylinder are shot. I'm going to start building it soon. It will be my personal saw and its main purpose will be a firewood saw wearing a 25" bar for now. My question is should I go back with the 440 top end or put a 460 top end on it. I like the idea of the 460 but cylinders are hard to find short of ordering new from the dealer and I really would like to stay with oem parts. Either one I go with with have some light porting done. I have found a couple of good used oem 440 cylinders. To many choices, not enough $$$

I planned to go oem. The question is to go stock 440 or go with the 460 top end

I was referring to the fact that I have found the 440 cylinder but cannot seem to find any 460 cylinders.

Try a want ad in the trading post. Lots of guys have jugs on their shelves, you may find one that wants to sell one.
