Hi all, thanks for all the info in my other post about the 441 mtronic.
Saw is now running with new P/C.
One more question, does the mtronic run the saw as lean as possible?
Should i run some more oil in the mix for a couple of tanks?40:1 at the moment.
    Cheers,Chris.

No the m-tronic doesn`t run the saw as lean as possible. If you put it on a tachometer you can see it`s not reaching the max of 13.500 rpm, it`s a little bit deeper around 13.200 rpm. (You can hear a slight 4 cycling sound while on full throttle with no load) You can use the 40:1 mix on your new cylinder/piston combination, but 50:1 should be normally enough with today`s oil. Ok, some of the mechanics or porters say 40:1 is better because of more lubrication inside. And my own opinion is: I would also use the 40:1 everytime.

Hi DND,yes I did notice when I gave it a little squirt at no load it sounded to be 4 stroking.
Haven't tried it in a log yet, just thought I would ask first.
    Cheers,Chris.

Of course it runs it as lean as possible. That's why you can't mess with the adjustment and why the EPA allows them to be sold.

Is there another thread OP with the issues you were having? I am assuming that the PC was replaced under warranty? How did they come to the realization that the PC was the issue? Just curious as to what it was doing and how they sniffed out the problem. I don't think any of my local dealers have the software to hook up any of the M-Tronic saws.

Got saw in parts in a box.P/C was mechanically scored from what I think was plug electrode but unable to prove.
Local stihl said uneconomical to repair.
    I fitted a hyway P/C.
Just checking up on lean running as I have no experience with mtronic saws.
Also a big thanks to you guys that helped me in this and my previous 441c post.
    Cheers,Chris

There is no way to adjust an MTronic carb.
