150777D7-3349-471A-A425-19FC3D6FB834.jpeg went ahead and modified the throttle linkage last night. This is the connecting arm that connects the primary butterfly to the secondary. Couldn’t find much if any info about this. One member here said that when they are timed in sequence you will have better throttle response.

I also smoothed out the strato throttle area, making transitions for air smoother. Best way to attack this is with a dremel bit that forms a point, and to go in through the two small holes instead of the larger one. I had to take the butterfly right out to get it.

I found too that the butterfly needs to be in the exact same position as before, before you tighten it. Otherwise it can set in a position that lets too much air in, leaving a small crack for air to get through.
I can’t help but tinker with crap, but in the end the mod did work as advertised. Throttle response was much better, with sharp flicks of the finger there was no small hesitation as before.

The saw barely ran when I first started it up, would die on throttling so I had to do very slowly until it learned how to map the fuel. When I was able to get it running doing this I gave it full throttle in wood for about 60 seconds with the tip just slightly buried. After that things seemed to work very well.

Another note if you bend it too much you will leave the strato open in the stationary position. So just give it enough until the linkage tightens up and stop. They aren’t in perfect sequence but pretty close
If anyone wants to try it and has questions I can help :)
