I am having issues with my transmission temp light coming on like every two hitches. I have changed filters cleaned both the radiator and the cooler and have plenty of proper fluid in all systems. Any suggestions on what to check next?

see if the trans is actually overheating first? infrared laser pointy things are fairly cheap.

hydro overheat is generally a wonky pump/torque converter, fluid leaks buy causing wrong pressures in strange places, pressure causes heat etc

Take all that with a grain of salt cause I hate slush box trannies and preffer my hydro pumps divorced... so you know what eves

Hows your engine temp when that happens?
As Northman said converter could be slipping or (not familiar with JD) but clutches if they have them. Or again, pump. Does it have an external pump? Can you touch it with your hand?
Got a way to test pressure?
You don't have a brake dragging, or something binding do you?

The E doesn't gave a temp guage? I run a D model and it has a temp guage for water, trans and hydraulic.

None actually work, but that just means it's all good right? Haha.
