I have no doubt the the saw was a good runner before I tore it down...the before specs....

Compression: 170psi
Squish: .033
Exhaust: 100°
Transfers: 126°
Intake: 79°

After......

Compression: 210psi
Squish: .026
Exhaust: 99°
Transfers: 119°
Intake: 82°

Removed .030 from squish band and about .040 from the base.

Wow it might have ran good but that's horrible looking. Did they port it with a grinder or what. But once again great job.

Interesting thread title, Randy.

Do you now have a waiting room, soft music and magazines?

Nice work as always, BTW .... :hmm3grin2orange:

Cleaned up nice Randy.

The before trans would be 116? They ran about 16 in the blowdown out of the box.

This saw was ported at a shop in Indiana while the owner waited. He thought I could perhaps get a little more.

Clearly, the saw's owner isn't going to be the only one 'getting a little more!'

(Randy, ya stepped right into that one!)

You want a little too Ted? :msp_wink:

I believe I remember a few discussions about that shop's mods. I noticed that you went with only 20* of blowdown on this one. I thought you like more than that on the 395. No? How'd it compare?

I remember that discussion as well Brad......that's why I started this thread.

My "normal" numbers or the 395 are 102°, 122°, 82° or very close. This saw had to have the exhaust raised a bunch to get all the divots and bevel out.
