Here in kentucky.... The emerald ash borer has not been detected in Kentucky, says Lee Townsend, extension entomologist for the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture.

That is what the the Cincinnati enquirer posted March 7, 2009. I hope their right, It has been deteected in Cincinnati across the river from Ky, But that was 2 months ago ? who knows if there here in ky.
 
That's what I do with them too, the crooked/small stuff goes in the furnace for winter though.
 
So far in West Virginia the eab has only been detected in one county, and all wood is quarantined in that county. Out of state campers are thought to have introduced the eab to WV. Along the road I drive, you can see the traps that have been set up to try to catch the eab.
