I often see jargon or many abbreviations when people post and it's taken for granted people understand what they are talking about. Sure if I'm here long enough, like several hundred or more posts, I may pick up a bunch of it, but I'd rather speed up progress!

Can you please list some abbreviations you guys use here and what they mean?

Also,

If you have questions on what a certain abbreviation means, this is a good place to ask!

What does p/c mean? I'm thinking piston/cylinder, but not sure.

ok..first off this is a great idea a needs to be a sticky...but there needs to be some standards so that they are easier to read

examples:

LMAO: Laughing MY A** Off
ROFL: Rolling on the floor laughing
 
DBH : Diamater of a tree trunk at Breast Height

One of my favorites, though I do not see it used here often: RTFM : Read the F:censored: Manual!
 
AF Air Filter
OF Oil Filter
LF Lube Filter (same as OF)
SP Spark Plug
HT High Tension
LS Lakeside (also know as KIA, knows it all!)
BC Bar and Chain
CB Chain and Bar
RSN Replaceable Sproket Nose
ST Saw Troll

SW Saw witch

Here's my Definitions, with a couple that aren't filled out:
ALAP - (As Low As Possible)
B&C – Bar and Chain
BIL – Brother in Law
BOX store - Home Depot, Lowe’s, Etc.
BTW – By the way
CAS –Chainsaw Addiction Syndrome
CSM – Chain saw mill???
EGT - (exhaust gas temperature) probe
FIL – Father in law
FLEABAY - EBay
FWIW – For what it’s worth
GTG – Get To Gether I.E. Lets all get together and cut some firewood.
HD – Home Depot
IMHO – In my humble opinion
IMO – In my opinion
IPA - Isopropyl Alcohol
IPL – Illustrated Parts List
LOL – Laughing out Loud
LP – Low Profile (chain)
MIL – Mother in Law
MTTF - mean time to failure
NK – Narrow Kerf
NLA – No Longer Available
NOS - Not otherwise specified
OCD - ???
OEM – Original Equipment Manufacturer

OPE – Other People’s Experience???
OTD – Out the Door I.e. Out the door price
