blimey...big acorns! English oak acorms are sort of...thumb nail sized. those things look huge!

Big oak tree in front of house growing up. Yard would be thick with these in fall. Bedroom upstairs, hear them hit roof, bounce and roll down. Brother and I raked up buckets full and then squared off with old tennis racquets. Big welts but we never put an eye out

Chestnut Oaks around here can actually dent a hood.

It's bur oak, I was blowing leaves when I saw what I thought was an old tennis ball, turns out to be acorns. I had one a little bigger then the ones pictured but I couldn't find where I put it.

I'd like to see the turkey that can swallow one of these bad boys.

Speaking of acorns, my acorn crop was huge this year. Walking across my yard is like walking on marbles.

I bet if you painted faces on them, and called them something catchy like “snow kids” you could sell them at a craft fair for 2 or 3 dollars apiece. Could also do Santa Claus faces, or snowmen. Women go goo/goo over that stuff.
