Last spring I planted a 5 ft varigated giant dogwood (cornus controversa variegata) which was healthy throughout last season. This spring all leaves develop browning at the tips, some browning at the edges, curling and then fall off. At present, only a few leaves remain and none are healthy. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Do you have well-drained soil? Dogwoods hate to stay wet. They will develop root rot.
