All I care is that the vaccine is distributed in a equitable manner. Meaning POC and LBGTQXYZ should be first in line regardless of age or health condition. Also every inmate in prison should be priority and of course undocumented immigrants. They should receive a vaccination before releasing them into the country.

white people should go last. In fact if you are white and already received the vaccination you should be ashamed. That vaccination could have went to someone less fortunate but your selfishness and white privilege wouldn’t let you

I’m well aware there are red counties on the west side of the state. Also I never said anything about election results or politics. You brought that up.

I’m speaking strictly geographically as in folks west of the cascade crest tend to be a bit “slow” and post #6 is a perfect example of it.
Cheers!
Nothing wrong with being slow. We all don't like spouting off incorrect generalities about topics, or other groups of people who happen to be different. Fact checking is your friend. The west side of the state seems to have more industrious people who make more money who pay more taxes for us east siders to sponge off of. Fact check that. The east side of the state is based on agriculture and depends on low paid labor.

Folks move here thinking they found a bargain place and won't have to pay taxes. Well, we all like infrastructure and socialist snowplows and fire departments. So, we have sales taxes and fees instead of income taxes. The west side has better paying jobs, higher property taxes, and a larger population so that's why we east siders are able to sponge off them. Our industries have shut down--look up ALCOA for one. It hired folks who were once orchard laborers and paid good wages. It is no more.

Research the state history and trends before you claim superiority as an east sider. The east side, where I live, is basically a welfare recipient.

I get vaccinated, off comes the mask and out I go, off to friends homes and back to the beach and out to clubs. If you don't get the vaccine, I don't care. That's up to you. Much like the flu shot. I got mine and I don't care if you don't. Could I give you covid even if I'm vaccinated? Maybe. But I don't care. You have your reasons for not getting it and that shouldn't stop me from going back to usual activities. Stay vulnerable. I don't care.

This.

That's essentially where I'm at too. This thing was rushed through, the patients are the beta testers. Plus I'm 36 and in decent health, so the odds of Covid19 being more than an inconvenience are near nil.

Are you sure you're not confusing your risk of dying and your risk of permanent lung damage and health issues? At your age you're very unlikely to die. But, this virus causes many, many people your age to suffer from a range of maladies months and months after infection.

I was lucky enough to be one of the first groups of people to be eligible for the Moderna shots in my county due to being a first responder volunteer firefighter. It's a huge peace of mind for me, and my folks since they're old and got their shots as well.

If anyone's interested in how they make the Pfizer vaccine, this is a good read. https://www.usatoday.com/in-depth/n...ade-step-step-journey-pfizer-dose/4371693001/

Got a call from the Veterans administration the other week and they said " hello we are informing you that you can get the Covid 19 vaccine tomorrow and did you know that you are over 65 " NOOOOOOO I did not know that !! Nice and friendly phone voice but just dumb

Called back and goy my 1st shot a day later and will get 2nd shot March 11

I have never taken a flu shot and really don't get sick , my last BIA test at the VA showed my body fat at 11% and blood work like usual was spot on
Comments from my VA doctor are always encouraging an the best he said was " most 25 year old kids are not in good as shape you are " then kick back and talk about gardening & sports for awhile ...he's not a private practice ripoff so can afford me the time

Well I worked hard and dedicated my whole life to earn statements like that , and still do till this day .....it's a way of life you learn as a young fella and hopefully you can continue to manage down the road

My BMI would show that I am over weight ........well the the BMI is hogwash , it is a stupid height to weight ratio chart that does not determine body fat , it certainly has no reference to health but they still have that outdated chart on medical facility walls .........The BIA is a biomedical impendence analysis machine , it's just a scale that you stand on with you socks off and it sends a signal thru your body , that only is checking fat now so that alone does not determine your overall health
Blood work, a BIA and a stress test combined will paint a more clear picture of you health along with the doctors input of all the results

The BMI chart origins come from insurance companies screwing people to pay higher premiums by having them pegged as obese , if your doctor is using that chart you may consider getting a different one

So getting this shot was a decision made by me for several reasons , nothing to do with fear , nothing to do with being healthy either but more so it was the right thing to do ....... my decision was actually more for the concern and betterment of society , just like serving our country 40+ years ago that decision was made for reasons bigger than myself also

Have a great day everyone

My governor keeps adding people into the 1st phase. At first it was doctors and health workers, fire, police and emt, nursing homes and prisoners  . Now he's added over 75, those that accompany a 75 year old to the shot site, those over 65, those with asthma, those that smoke, fat people, and now veterans. Very little thought process was put into the phases and it doesn't look like there's even a chance the I'll get my shots in February as first promised as I was to be in 2nd phase. At this rate, I'm probably looking at June.

Too bad they did this state to state. It should have been one plan for the country but noooo ........

I know over 100 people who have been covid positive. Almost all were just various ranges of a cold. The worst one was down for a bit and is now back to ~80%, 3 months later.

This is serious, for sure. At the same time, I'm not restricting 90% of my life, for YEARS, until some political hack deigns to allow the serfs to return to some semblance of a normal life, as long as they have received the right inoculations and carry papers stating such, and are willing to present those papers to any goose stepping government lackey who demands them, for a disease that many people have to be told they even have. I've thought it through and I'll accept that risk.

Seriously, this is absolute madness.

I know four people who have died from it. Three of them were already in end of life stage. The last one was a fellow with fairly bad diabetes but otherwise healthy 61 year old. He got pneumonia with covid and didn’t go in until he had trouble breathing. The hospital said if he hadn’t waited so long to come in they would have had a better chance of saving him.

I’m glad there’s good distribution of the vaccine but I’m still concerned when I hear of folks who got both doses and then got covid. I’m not buying the conspiracy theories but that’s concerning.

Guy across the road from me passed away Saturday , 89 years old an he had Covid but they are claiming he died of heart attack

Covid was probably final straw as he still would be out on the farm doing something all the time
My friend’s father passed in January and they hung up his death certificate for weeks trying to add covid. He had severe COPD and was given 6 months to live, 24 months ago. His son is a paramedic and was not happy with what he saw to say the least.

Well , I am old enough to remember Polio, Red measles , small pox, and being vaccinated for all of it before I could start school. I think all should get the covid shots , you can bet your bottom dollar that if it were the 60s now you would have to take them!!!
You did not have much of choice on many things back then , I hated how we were treated as children back then
