I'm looking into growing some bamboo trees but I heard that they can be very invasive. Does anyone know if I grow bamboo in pots am I endangering my area?

Yes, I heard they were invasive but my understanding is while they do produce seeds they primarily create shoots, which is why they are so invasive. Will potted bamboo be a risk to my area?

Yes bamboo is invasive.

They spread mainly via rhizomes.

Where are these pots to be placed? I wouldn’t even consider putting potted bamboo on top of ANY soil. Even in a pot, the roots will escape through drainage holes.

I have been told there are “less” aggressive varieties. I won’t give any variety a second thought.

Things should be banned in my opinion.

Why bamboo?
