Bar and chain compatibility

Any reason not to go with an Oregon bar and chain from HD, versus Stihl OEM?
Preference and cost / value.

If you are considering Oregon, make sure that you compare their better bars against the STIHL guide bars, not just their cheapest:

No reason that you can't run Oregon chain on a STIHL bar, or vice-versa, as long as the pitch, gauge, and drive link count are the same. It is always a good idea to have more than one chain: you can buy one of each, and form your own opinions on them.

Yes, I do have the 325” sprocket...stock saw, haven’t modified anything.
DON'T RUN THAT BAR & CHAIN! You need a 3/8" sprocket! If you run it with the .325 sprocket you'll peen the drive links which will make it tough to turn.
 
Looks like the sprocket was damaged slightly. Not sure if that happens from regular wear or if it was from running the wrong chain.
