Hi guys! Just wondering if anyone has ever had a belly replacement done on a bc1800xl and if it’s never chipped the same? I’ve had 2 re done and they are just not the same, they used to eat whole palms no blockage or anything! Now I can’t even chip a palm log without it blocking the chute? Could the belly skin be put it wrong? Has anyone had any similar experience? Help!!!!!

Hi Jake,

We've replaced them in our shop. I'm wondering how far your anvil/cutter bar is away from the knives. Usually, on a Vermeer BC1800 it should be 3/16 of an inch away from the knives. It could be that the belly pan was installed wrong and it's not creating the air to get the palms out. Check the cutter bar.

Hope this helps!
