Double headed concrete nails. Easy to pull out, even years later.

The exceptionally hard duplex concrete nails don't break, and you should be able to get the hammer under the head anytime in the next 10 years.

The real hard concrete nails seem to be difficult to find in duplex...

What are those nails that the Plastic Tree Inspection Records are held on by? They have a protective rubber washer under the head and are super light. Its lighter than aluminium. Im guessing they were designed to be non-invasive.

Please do not ever use zip ties or anything that wraps around the entire tree.

Staples.

Any sort of nail will ruin a log for timber purposes, and cause a danger issue for firewooding, yes even aluminium. Staples are small enough that they will rust away to nothing by the time someone comes along and kills it for wood, as well as being small enough to not pose a threat to any sort of saw and if done correctly will last surely longer then the signs.
