I was very fortunate the other day to get a Black Birch tree that had fallen into the path of a road-the township workers cut up and left lay the top part; I cut up and took home the rest. It has a wonderful "wintergreen" smell to it. Around here we also call it "Cherry Birch"-very good wood if you can get it. Wish you all could smell this wintergreen aroma!
