Blue Ash roots spreading close to foundation and street, sidewalk.

Have an old Blue Ash tree on front yard, there are suckers coming out at the edge of my lot, sidewalk, on the street. is there a way to stop it without killing the tree?
Also, there is any site with pictures of the little trees coming out so I can confirm it is the right tree?
