Thanks. I think there must have been a lot pressure on the bottom, and that's why it broke out. Plus it's pretty old.Search for hydraulic cylinder clevis and I think you'll be able to find something to match. Might want to know why it broke - binding, overloaded, flaw in material, or just plain worn out.
Yep. Just took the picture before putting it in.Hopefully you put a bolt on the split end of the clevis. Seen those bolts get lost or forgotten and ruin the threads on the end of the rod.
That sucks, I hope you can fix it.View attachment 832713View attachment 832712View attachment 832711
I dont know if I'll be able to find a replacement piece since it's an old splitter. It would probably have to be specially made. Any ideas?
Yep ...he fixed it, at least that’s what the post 4 above yours says. That sucks, I hope you can fix it.
The part and rethreading cost a little under $90. I'm a little more cautious when splitting gnarly wood now.Yep ...he fixed it, at least that’s what the post 4 above yours says.
Im wondering what the O.P paid to have the cylinder disassembled and have the ram turned and rethreaded?
That’s pretty cheap actually...I think you got good deal. The part and rethreading cost a little under $90. I'm a little more cautious when splitting gnarly wood now.
