Buy the MS 290 or spend the extra money for the more powerful .........

I have the MS290 and it's a great saw. If that is your budget then you can't beat it, my opinion. However, if you are considering spending 700, then go with the J-Red 2171. A 13lb saw with 71cc vs what Stihl has, which is either less power or more weight for that amount of money. Again, my opinion. I like both, but the power to weight ratio is what sold me on the J-red. Anyone that I let run my saw can't believe how B.A. it is. I'm looking to mod the muffler on both now, but can't find anyone to do it. You might want to consider that as well.

I've heard that's a good saw....but there's no Dealership/support for any brand but Husky and Stihl in this area...and the Stihl Dealer is near me and good people...

Now, he just needs to learn to do this: :hmm3grin2orange:

......Well......You gonna keep it a secret

This whole thread is a bunch of poo.....

Too many agendas in the campfire, so all of the threads are suspect!!!!!!!!

No matter, as non of us matter............

Keep going; I'm just here for all the good reading material

The plot has taken yet another twist...I should have known any deal with someone that spent as much time as Andy did picking my saws apart would have an unseen ending...

Don't you dare tell 'em Murph !!
If you do, I'm gonna tear your head off and roll it down the street like a bowling ball.....:msp_biggrin:

.....You know I'm old and indecisive ....

I think you saved this tree for nmurph so that the gremlin with the white hair sitting in the tree can take him out and you can inherit all his saws!

Well........I went to see Murph again today.
I'll have to say, he sure is a patient, tolerant and understanding guy !!
When I was up there the first time, he kept suggesting that I buy the ms261 and send it to MastreMud for porting..
.....BUT I WANT a 362!! So I bought the 362 he had.......and went home happy...

Then, I kept thinking about his advise.....Today he swapped the 362 and gave me the 261 !! Very Understanding !!!
Many Thanks to Murph for helping me over come my OL' Stupids !

.......BUT I STILL WANT A MS362 REAL BAD !!!
Can you spell "CAD?"

Thanks again Murph !
Ol' Grits

OK, now that that's over.....I can go back to "badmouthing" him....

It was my pleasure. I just glad a felt better today.

BTW, he got to make a cut with a 125 with a 36" bar...I think ol' Andy is hooked.

YES! that 125 really puts a smile on your face.....:D
I wanted to cut more with that one...

I hate to brag.....
But have Y'all seen me in the Progressive commercial....juggling 3 chain saws??

I had to practice a day or 2 for that one !!

Now let me get this straight, Murph suggested you get a 261 because he is very knowledgable.

You bought the 362 against his reccomendations

The next day you go back and he swaps with you to save your buyer's remorse

Murph appears to be a very stand up guy although I have never met him :msp_thumbup:

You'll be a happy man with either. I am surprised a 346 isn't in your future, I predicted that.
