With how things are going with battery tools hopefully by the time this comes to pass we will be at a point where we dont need gasoline anymore. Because I can really see this stuff getting out of hand and everything gasoline being banned within 30 years

Lithium and lead for battery's don't grow on trees. And you can't mine ether without oil.

I dont know if you've noticed but nowadays environmentalists are about emotion not facts. They dont care that batteries are worse for the environment they just want to virtue signal about killing big oil and banning fossil fuels. It's coming whether we want it or not

I'll bet the loggers running Stihl MS 661's, MS880's and Husky 394's and 395's just can't wait to get their hands on little electric chainsaws to tackle the big pines and firs.
They already 14" cut off saws that are battery powered and pretty doggone capable. Look up the new Milwaukee mx fuel line just introduced. I'm not advocating for it I'm just saying its coming.

So they don't care about strip mining and the environmental damage that causes. Well bless there little batteries.

Yeah rare earth mining makes mountain top removal look like a green peace rally. When you are getting into this stuff rational thinking and logic goes out the window. And it's only going to get worse with the Greta thunbergs of the world brainwashing a new generation of low information voters.

The vast majority immigrated here. I'm third gen born here. Remember, there's more people in CA who voted for Trump than the bottom 16 RED STATES COMBINED...
And you’re still outnumbered 2-1. It’s not quite as bad here in WA, we’re probably about 8% down and when you get out into the country it’s solid conservative/libertarian, but most of the time the sheer number of leftists in Seattle are enough to outvote us and when they don’t the political shills that make up our state Supreme Court will usually overturn any initiative that we manage to pass and give a pass to even blatantly unconstitutional ones from the other side.

Just wait until they figure out graphene batteries. They’re supposed to be able to hold more than 50x’s the charge of a lithium ion battery and be able to discharge it almost instantly. They’re the kind of thing that would make electric aircraft feasible. If they can sort those out it will be a game changer.

A one day civil war and then they are at our mercy.

These pussies today want fat bellies and fat wallets.

The "civil war" outcry was louder in 1990.
Been hearing this bullcrap since the last civil war.

Go ahead candy assez.
Do it.
Fkin wifi in every place and life in a silver platter.... "We gonna shoot people!"

Do it!
Stop talking about it and do it!

You wont.
Ever.
The government has your balls in their purse.

I can see this type of ban happening in certain cities and counties. Same as burning brush or using a wood stove. Some areas allow it, others do not.

Native Californian that grew up in Ca during the 60's and 70's and has lived during the changes. Without question the transplants over the past 30+ years have ruined a once great State. Now it only has great areas. Generally speaking, any area west of I 5 is trash now. Fortunately, this happens to be where the earthquake faults exist ;)

Maybe California should ban fossil fuel powered emergency vehicles and the next time California catches fire they can use a supper soaker squirt gun to put them out. Next time they catch fire, let them burn.

Well, on that note- next time your kid gets cancer, let him die.

I can understand cities banning gas lawn mowers and leaf blowers. They're loud and annoying. The battery ones apparently work pretty well. However there's a lot of rural and mountain areas where people need to run the kind of equipment that current electric technology can't power yet. I'm also a native Californian who grew up in the 60s. There's too many people in the state now and the cities are too large. But there's still a lot of nice places. Even west of I5. It's a big state.

I can't find any published details of the proposed laws or regulations. The most I can find is this:

"This year, the air board is reducing the emissions allowed for gasoline-powered lawn equipment sold in California. As early as 2022, it wants allowed emissions to drop to zero. (Companies can in the meantime earn credits for selling machines that are below the standard, allowing them to continue selling gasoline-powered devices even after 2022.) The ultimate goal is ending the sale of gas machines, but that will come much later, Fibiger said."

It's from https://www.sfchronicle.com/business/article/California-s-latest-pollution-push-Banning-14951305.php

From that it does not sound like a ban, but a phasing out of new sales over a long period of time. Hopefully that phase out will be slow enough that battery tech will have improved to where we have usable large battery-powered saws. Going too fast would impact the fire clearing that needs to be done in the state. And logging. Even though I understand and like two strokes, I would not mind a quiet lightweight powerful battery saw when and if one is developed. They make good small battery saws now. I know people who use them commercially in christmas tree farms and like them.

It's also considering abandoning the USA. Perhaps good riddance to bad rubbish?

Lets see what they think about it when lawn services go up on there prices to make up for re tooling to all electric equipment.

Just seen this on a sawmill forum I’m on. The article is dated 6 Jan 2020 and was on abc7news.com I guess out of San Fran. Not quite sure how to post the link but have seen guys on this forum mention the eventual ban of our beloved 2 stroke chainsaws in the future and thought folks might be interested.

They'd be better off banning Criminal aliens
