Can I go Rim sprocket on my 201t

Just was wondering 201t comes with spur but would like to go rim when it wears down?

There are only spur sprockets availible for the MS 201T. It is also because of the outside clutch.

I went from a spur socket to a rim socket on my ms290. Zero, nada, no difference that I can tell.

A rim sprocket setup could be done on the saw regardless of the fact it is an outboard clutch. Husky outboards seem to handle them well enough.

But once again, I also know of no conversion available. The conversion would more than likely also include a different oil pump pinion for the new rim drive to rest into.

I don't think that there are any rim sprockets made for 3/8ths low-pro chain.

rims for 241/260/261 etc are available in 7 and 8 tooth in 3/8 lp from stihl

The spur engages the oil pump drive helix, so you might need to rig something to make it work. I doubt it's worth the effort, but I have always put rims on saws that will accept them.

They also carry a variety of lengths of GB bars equipped with a 3/8",lo-pro sprocket nose. You learn something new every day.

Is there any reason not to run a 325 chain on a ms201 assuming you could get the clutch conversion. I was told once by someone in the business that they put lo pro chains on climbing saws to reduce the production cost
