I found this guy on Youtube that is building his home out of shipping containers and diamond plate steel. Even the roof is 100% solid 3/8's steel. You have to watch this guy and his girlfriend work. This house is one of the strongest well built homes you have ever seen. Check it out.

I have been watching Andy's vids for a long time. He is very interesting, very honest, very hard working and has loads of common sense.
He was raised well.
Make sure you watch this one. it's a hoot.

I saw his vids a long time ago but I forgot the name of his channel. This vid just popped up on my feed the other day.

I am here
He's gonna have an expensive, (eventually) rusty house, that's for sure. Nothing wrong with that.

New York. I guess he'll have to insulate creatively and carefully. Steel rots too, eventually. Maybe a thousand years down the road. Ha!

Is he turning it into a house?
It was a workshop.

Don't understand the 3/16"? thick roof and huge I beams.
Could have done it with proper sized materials for WAY cheaper.

Part of the reason people use conexs is that the structure isn't taxed as it's temporary.
Ends up being $$ though. Figure 3-5k a 40ft conex.

A 16ft tall, 40ft long wall isn't costing 10k to build.
