So, started doing a little pruning and removal on the side, trying to keep it as small as possible for the first few years. Thinking about pulling the trigger on a small chipper simply to avoid having to haul off limbs and pine needles. Any recommendations other than a Vermeer 600? Realistically I’m only going to be using it every other weekend tops. I’m a one man show so in the off chance I need something bigger i’ll Rent.

A neighbor recently rented a Dosko with a gas engine. It had a wide opening and ample chipping power, for a gas motor.
Not a popular brand, maybe you could find a surplus machine discounted, compared to the Vermeer.

Bandit and Morbark have 12" wide chute openings on their 6" chippers. They will swallow a lot more twisted branches and forks than the ones with 6" square openings.
