And a written letter from a reputable arborist advising against catastrophic root removal within the CRZ/root plate and a recommendation for alternative sidewalk system such as ramping or curving around.

According to the city, the homeowner is the one responsible for:

- planting tree on the sidewalk
- maintenance/upkeep of the tree on the sidewalk
- is fully liable of anything that goes wrong to the tree and anything on the sidewalk

And, the city has full ownership of both the sidewalk and the trees on the curbside adjacent to the sidewalk.

wow this is so far from how we do it down here i cant get my head around legally bizarre ordinances,,, "your liable for costs & input but they own"? Call in Arb help check with other city's how they may remedy same situation,, its to weird for me to assist...

tell the city it will kill the tree and get written acknowledgement of this...then cut eh dog gone thing down....all this worry about protecting something that is in abundance outside the city limits is a stupid waste of tax dollars.
