I have several cypress trees, don't know what kind. They are about 6 feet
tall and narrow.
There are many globs of a brown substance on the branches. Some of the
branches have turned brown and died. The brown substance surrounds the whole
branch. Most are about 3/4 inch in diameter. There are some smaller one and
they appear to be some clumps of this brown substance. I really noticed it
after a rain.
The substance appears to be coming out of the branch, it is soft and gooey.
I think it may be Branch Canker. What can be done to correct this disease?
I live in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Can you help me identify these white dots on my cypress leaves? Is it a problem? What is the solution? Pictures attached...
