Used to work for a golf course with a lot of wooded area and the maintenance department had two of those, and an 044. The 026s never seemed to need anything but fuel, oil and chain maintenance and seemed like really nice saws to operate to me. $120 sounds like some heavy “right place at the right time” action; congrats!

Can someone enlighten me as to the secret of the filter cover? It slides on fine...but the knob doesnt really turn...when it does it's cocked at an angle.

I think i figured it out. Captures behind the studs, i slide it down, push in some and turn ccw about 40* and it holds firmly...and the knob is straight.

So I had to try mine again this morning. Made no difference until I pushed the cover down a bit then turned knob. Didn’t matter CCW or CW. It’s straight now. All these years without it being correct. I guess only one tab was grabbing to make it crooked

That's the only thing i could figure. Its dodgy but it works, all the little diamond shaped part does is turn between the posts.
