Diesel Generator Fuel Consumption Problem

I bought a diesel generator Cummins engine NTA855-GA one year ago. Is anybody can tell me how to calculate the generator fuel consumption? It is up to the load? Now it consumes a lot of diesel fuel, I want to reduce the fuel consumption, any help?

Get a different generator. That motor is good for 16-20 gals an hr. at rated speed. Even if the load is low it still needs to turn rated speed for correct voltage and hertz.

That's not bad at all. What hp rating? 290, 300, 310, 350, 400, 475,etc?
