I PLANTED 10 SUGAR MAPLES TREES THIS SPRING FROM BAREROOT.ALL STARTED TO LEAF OUT BUT THEN LEAVES TURNED BROWN,SHRIVELED.TREES WERE PLANTED WITH CARE AND WERE GIVEN AMPLE WATER AND ROOT STIMULATOR.ANY IDEAS?
THANKS SCOTT

Scott,
Take your finger nail and lightly scrap the bark to see if you still have live green tissue under the bark.

Has anything changed around the planting area? Too much water is as damaging as to little water.

If you dug them yourself from the forest, (read nice shady spot) and planted them in the direct sun, they would not like that very much. Shade is important to maple establishment, and they become less shade tolerant as they mature.
