Echo CS-271T Muffler Mod?

I wasnt a fan of any mods I saw on climbing saws. This is what I did. Turned out well. Both saws responded great to the modifications.

Never seen a 'stupid' muffler before. Mufflers don't have a brain last time I checked, but then some saw owners appear to be lacking as well...
Very constructive, thanks for chiming in.

I maintain that a choked off catalytic muffler is a stupid appurtenance to put on a 27cc chainsaw.
 
How it will be with ALL new saws sooner than you can imagine. Glad I don't live in Canada, I bought the replacement non cat muffler from Saw It Again for 12 bucks less, shipping included. I would suggest taking a Dremel to the deflector as well.
 
I suspect there is some more flow to be found by dremelling, but it's as loud as I care for it to be now. I use it often for clearing blowdowns and opening up shooting lanes around my tree stands and don't want to announce my location to the whole world.
 
Likely will at some point. They barely even existed when I bought the CS-271T (9 years ago now), but have certainly come a long way since.
