Anyone know much about this new offering from echo? 73cc 7310 model? Looks interesting however maybe on the heavy side for a 70 plus cc saw? Just curious if anyone knows much about it and if it has some potential.

it has potential alright! It's potentially the only non-moronic or autoboom 70cc saw pro saw (?) available when the manual carb Stihls run out. Not sure, but I think it's supplementary air-charged (Strato), which is sad. You can't have great fuel mileage AND equal (to not strato) longevity in a two stroke. Especially at 50:1.
FTR, I don't blame Husky or Stihl for the moronics or autobooms or stratos, I blame the epa. Bastids.

Yeah I think it’s on the heavy side for a 73cc saw (almost 15 lbs PHO) they should just make a 70cc variant of the 620 and boom!! Solid option right there!!
Echo marches to their own drum, and miss much of the commercial market because of that.
yup, 620 should be a 720 and the 7310 should be an 8310.

And for some dumb reason their eu version of the 620 aka 621sx comes with captive bar nuts but not the us version!?! Go figure...

Yes, they managed to squeeze it under emission requirements without employing strato. Again.
As for weight, despite catalogue weight (which includes outer dogs) they are overly “honest”. The nearest competitor states they are 200 grams lighter while in reality it isn’t. By holding those 2 I doubt anyone could even guess if there is any difference.
There are tons of details on this saw where weight was sacrificed for durability and reliability at work site.

Just stopped at my echo Dealer to pick up some chains and he told me about the 7310 saying he has them ordered but waiting to hear when we can get them. I asked a price he said somewhere around 800 he believes. So not sure when he will get his hands on one

Well, yes. That one takes 8-15hrs just to run in. Powerhead weight difference from 572 is less than 2% so fully equipped probably makes less difference than wood humidity that day. And definitely less difference than air temperature and humidity

Guy I know just bought one in my CRG for $770 with 28". He has it already tore down with pics porting it.
Retail they are saying is $749-$799 with 20". $8+ with 28"
Inside cylinder and transfers look pretty neat. But the weight was more then expected. Even over book specs.
