Stihl makes a starting pull handle for chainsaws with a spring in it to absorb kick backs when starting. It is called an "ElastoStart" Starting Handle.

Is there anything like this made for a 10 hp wood splitter gas engine?

Or can I remove the pull rope from the Stihl handle and connect the splitter rope to it?

(The Stihl handle comes with the rope attached and it looks like the rope would not be easy to remove from the handle or I would damage the handle if I tried to take it apart...)

The rope is too short for a log splitter, and probably too thin too. Four strokes don't generate the forces as a saw, so I'm not sure you would benefit anyway.
If I recall correctly, I did use a different rope in the handle of an elastostart one time. It involved a couple knots and a little tiny flat washer or two.
