I went through a "safety blitz" yesterday by our local authorities. On hand were the DOT checking mechanical fitness, police checking licenses and booze, environment checking emissions, revenuers checking for coloured fuel and fisheries checking for all things dead.

There have been several of these blitz's at random locations in the past year. I'm wondering what you experience in your jurisdictions? Does it seem more intense that even 5 years ago?

I'm glad at this point that I no longer run anything bigger than a 3/4 ton truck - seemingly too much hastle.

Maybe once every couple of years I see a license check but never anything else here in GA. Sometimes OSHA regulation men come sniffing around ( in Atlanta) but we meet or exceed their specs.

I often see many tree workers practicing some extremely dangerous techniques but what do you do? I wish OSHA would enforce more around here because of that. Especially to keep the ground workers safe from the climbers irresponsibility.

What do you think?

It Happens here pretty often! My wife mows grass and has a 20' open trailer that she pulls for the mowers, they were patolling my neihborhood! The checked us and we were fine! They have shut other operations down! good or bad i dont know but them boys like their jobs!

I've been in business 16 years, now running 4 trucks, plus chippers and stump grinders. We've never been stopped, knock on wood.:D
