I found these last fall. I was looking for the traditional wood ones. When I bought the files the saw shop had this flat, red plastic handle, but didn't like the feel. The hardware store was out of the traditional wood ones, but had the General. Pretty pricy so i tried only one. I'll be getting a couple more.
Nice size, bigger diameter, and more comfortable to grasp. Easily changed out to replace wore file.
I had some fuel line hose, so I'm trying that as a file guard in the kit.
The kit got dumped out this morning, sorted the collection of tools and crap from the basics.
Can't have enough tooth brushes though. IMG_4759.jpgIMG_4758.jpg

In the woods, I always would find a dogwood limb about 3/4 to 1 inch in dia. to make a file handle. I just drove the file down in the dogwood limb and it would last longer than the file, usually out lasted 2 or 3 files. Heck, I usually lost it before I wore it out. I really like the ideal of the fuel hose to protect the file. you da man for that ideal.
