If firewood was my main source of heat, I wouldn't be using a 40 something cc chainsaw to cut it up unless I was cutting 10" pine all the time. It's all opinion, and subjective, but seek out a 60cc/20" saw. If all you have is a 40 something 16" bar and are cutting hardwood, you will be underpowered and will end up having to walk away from a lot of firewood if you happen onto a larger tree of opportunity. I started out with a 45cc/16" 346xp and walked away from a lot because of insufficient power and insufficient reach. I ended up with a 75cc/24" as my main saw and never had to walk away from opportunity again.
