When I finish reading a thread and click the return, I get bounced right back to the start of the page and have to scroll down to where I left off, is this a new "normal" or am I doing something stupid that should be obvious but isn't.

The green little box with an up arrow appeared maybe a month ago after a short site not available for update pause. It scoots you up to the top where you click on the sub forum and get to that index, once there if you can pick another thread or go up a level. Probably appreciated by smart phone users. This isn't the only place it has appeared. Perhaps a Vbulletin feature. This box I describe appears upon scrolling up a bit. Is this what hit return means?
I go back to the top of the page I used to go back to where I last was.
I noticed after that site upgrade that wasn't a few months ago, drove me crazy especially if the post had a couple pages to read. I just right click the link you want, in the window that pops up click "open in new tab". When you have finished viewing that post close the tab and you are right where you left off scrolling.
