• Notice to all BUYERS. You are buying at your own risk. If you do not know the seller then please be cautious and look for suspicious activity. If they ask you to mail a check/money order or pay with PayPal using the Friends and Family option, that is a RED FLAG. Your purchase will not be protected. Only pay with credit card or PayPal using the goods and services options. Do not fall for the excuse that they don't want to pay the PayPal fees. They need to account for that in their sales price.
  • To all USERS that think they need to police the site. New users that come to sell items are not always selling stolen merchandise. No vigilante or lynch mob mentality is permitted. You will be given infraction points if you accuse someone of selling stolen merchandise without hard evidence. You must have the stolen item report with a serial number and/or pictures that match the for sale item to make such accusations. Alert the moderators with your evidence and they will take care of any transgressions. If you do not you will be given enough points for a 3 day time out.
  • Please be aware that we have recently gotten a wave of users that, when researched, are found to be from Nigeria. They are trying to sell products and asking to be paid through Zelle or Venmo leaving users with no recourse if they don't ship the product. If you suspect this activity please contact admin and we will research their information to verify their location.

Free face masks

No more than two per person, please, since my sewing time is limited.
I've already made and given away 150 over the past two weeks to coworkers, local businesses, friends, and family.

Mailed First-class legal-size envelope. One mask is $.70, two masks are $1.20 postage. No tracking number available on first class letter mail.
It would help me out if you could PayPal the postage. The masks are absolutely free.

Included with the mask is a print out with fabric content, washing instructions, and a disclaimer, just like this:

**This facemask is designed by me. This facemask is NOT ASTM compliant masks, N95 masks, surgical masks, or medical masks, nor do I represent that these masks will resist the COVID 19 virus or any other virus or bacterial infection.**
Mens Size Large: 9"
Womens Size Medium: 8"
Contents:
100% quilt cotton front, 100% cotton flannel backing, poly elastic
Hand wash, dry flat, or drip dry, to prevent shrinkage. Hot iron pleats.
Be Safe, Stay Healthy

I have about 50 bolts of fabric, nothing "manly" per se, but I do have a lot of solid colors and matching stripes. I use 100% cotton flannel for the backing and 100% quilting cotton for the front. 1/4" white elastic for the ear loops. All brand new materials.
Sturdy construction, no raw edges, three pleats, elastic binding.

I can also make them no flannel, double sided/ reversible cotton, which is lighter weight and not as thick as the one with the flannel.

I can't take requests for specific fabrics, or patterns, but you can let me know if you prefer RED, GREEN, BLUE, YELLOW, BLACK, or, BROWN
Also, let me know how many you want and if you want men's or woman's size. The mans size is an inch wider than the woman's. The blue mask the old broad is wearing is the man's size. The other mask is a woman's size.
Attaching pics of the masks and some of the fabric I'm using.
(Never mind my paper products stock pile :dancing:)

Thanks for reviving this.
I haven't made any in a while, got burned out on them... plus, now, they're a dime a dozen and anyone can buy them anywhere for a reasonable price.
Had a customer ask for a friend recently, but when she said she knows someone else who makes them I said go for it. :ices_rofl:
If I get motivated, I may crank it back up again.

I know exactly what you mean... the first batch provided to us by the USPS looked like women's panties... and the second batch came with a label, Made in China - and stated in no uncertain terms that it would not provide protection from covid or any other virus.

yea same here in the USA every thing is now marked that it will not protect you.
we are ... well i will say it "so screwed!"
the latest now they say it is a mater of time before it is 100% of the population that will have had it...
heck it has mutated already several times...
they say this fall 2020 will be a BIG event...
there are so many folks just giving up and saying "it has been a good life" and not protecting them selves or others...

how ever i think some good will come out of this...
the way we handle food and food prep... at least for number one...

maybe school might be number two... home school is catching on!
in a way it might be a good thing!
if a kid wants to study a field they can do just that with out all the crap coming at them in a class room if they do well.
if they are home schooled who cares if they blow the grade curve?? lol!
some how i think the one on one home school might be a good thing...

if there was a way to close off a school like a private school campus that might work.
they are isolated for the 4 years of school from the world...
total closed campus..
lol school on the moon or mars any one?

maybe as number 3 we are learning who we can trust...
some neighborhoods are closer than ever now!
some have re en acted some of the bad movies...
who would to have thought all the riot stuff would to have happened in some of the cities...

who knows what should be any more numbers of the life lessons to be learned from all of this.
sorry for the rant...

i just know there will be a time to look back and say what the heck was that..
just like the 1960's
tough times to have lived through that!

it just sticks in my mind to cull the herd ... not sure who said that first..
think on this.
in history war every few years.
over a line in the sand, religion, food...
thousands lost... on every side.
so is this our great flood of the year 2020?
wipe out lots of folks....
hummmm.
food for though for sure.
stay safe out there!
the rev.

Yup. That's what went through my mind a couple months ago - culling the herd. Survival of the fittest.

i just saw something on you tube about china shipping seeds at random to usa?
the agriculture bunch is warning to not throw them in the trash or in sewers.

burn them out side

yea as an agronomist i understand the not throwing out or flushing thing.
but what are the folks in china doing?
it costs money to ship this stuff

or is it a plot by china??
just to say we can ship any thing we want to the usa?

last i knew seeds were on the list from other countries right now of no ship items.

True. I was told about it at work last week - I work at the post office.
They are shipping them in those little plastic bags, and the contents reported on the label says something other than seeds, so they would bypass customs inspection, for the most part. I think the USPS has some kind of deal with China and their shipping rates - how else could you buy something on eBay, pay under $! for it, with free shipping, and the seller make any kind of profit??

What I read about these seeds is that a seller is trying to boost his seller rating, which is believable.
